Our Philosophy
Our program is based on the individuality of each child. Each child's needs and learning abilities are placed at the forefront of our developmentally appropriate program. Pre-school is a time of readiness and the children are provided the necessary tools and materials for social and academic growth. Young children are filled with an energy and curiosity about life and learning. At this level the child is eager and ready to make discoveries and become actively involved in his/her own learning experience. Each day in pre-school will include an age appropriate, stimulating, and adventurous hands-on experience for your child.
DISCIPLINE We strive to encourage appropriate behavior through positive reinforcement, praise, and modeling. Structuring the environment with thorough planning that is geared to the children's needs and levels of development minimizes inappropriate behavior. Physical punishment is never used under any circumstances. The pre-school reserves the right to remove a child from the class roll if it becomes necessary as a result of continued discipline problems.
CONFERENCES AND PROGRESS REPORTS A parent may schedule a conference at any time by calling the office. Teachers may suggest conferences if they deem it necessary. Progress reports will be sent home twice during the school year: in January after Open House and at the end of the year.
VISITATION AND VOLUNTEERING Our open door policy allows parents of enrolled children to visit anytime. For safety considerations all visitors must check-in at the pre-school office before going into classrooms. We encourage parents to volunteer at the school, either as a classroom Mom or Dad or in some other area, such as fund raising or special events. Volunteers must also check-in first at the office.
