I just wanted to let you know some of what is happening here in the youth world at FPC Boca.

May - June News

Thanks to all the teens who participated in Youth Sunday this past month. We were so proud of the teens. They handled the greeting, ushering, offering, singing, children’s time, the message, and prayers. They are very young to have the courage to try all of that. They each have several talents that need to be encouraged. Thanks so much to the congregation for supporting and encouraging them to run a worship service.

Thanks to the Matthews for hosting a fun Spring Break Party. Thanks so much to all of you for the surprise shower. That was very sweet!!!!

Our youth mission trip is quickly approaching. Please reserve the week of June 22nd-28th. We will head up to North Carolina once again and work on the house of the underprivileged. It’s nice to help them with their physical needs but being a good testimony spiritually is our #1 goal.

After school gets out, we will have a fun initiation party to welcome the new 7th graders into the group. Details will follow.

Seniors, please work on submitting your applications for college scholarships.

Please reserve the following dates:
May 18th, 25th, and June 1th - Confirmation class for 9th -12th graders from 4:30-5:30
June 8th – Honor the seniors
June 9-13th – VBS in which the youth volunteer
June 22-28th – Youth Mission Trip
The Summer will be filled with several fun events again. We will have community service opportunities, fun bonding activities, and youth groups on the beach. Keep a look out for the summer calendar which will be coming out soon.

Teens Pitch in to Help Furnish New Youth Center

Jr. And Sr. High members of First Presbyterian Church are working hard to help make their new youth center all it can be. Rising to the challenge put forth by Youth Directgor Cindy Connelly, our teens worked odd jobs and did chores to raise over $300 for the new center. The teens hope the money will help fund amenities including TVs, game tables, video systems and other recreational items.

Our teens currently meet in an outdated 1,400 sauare foot area next to the nursery. Their new space is more than 40% larger, and features elevated seating for Bible studies and get-togethers, a mini-kitchen, a recreation area, and new restrooms. With direct access to our athletic floor, the teens can now participate in indoor games, sports and events. Excitement is growing amongst our youth, as they are already planning activities in the new building. They look forward to hosting large outreaches with fun events like gladiator games and wrestle mania.

The goal of outreaches is for the teens to invite their friends to a fun church event where they will hear the Word of God and hopefully want to continue coming. They will also have enough room for fun games during youth group and practices for the AWANA Olympics. They look forward to painting one wall with chalk paint so that they can write each other encouraging messages and verses on the wall.

One wall of the teen center will also feature the group's theme verse, 11 Timothy 4:2, "Preach the Word; be prepared in season and out of season; correct, rebuke, and encourage - with great patience and careful instruction." It will be a space where our youth can invite friends to come and join the fun, in this casual and comfortable environment.
